Peacocks in Glendora, California

Lisa writes: Today we learned that peacocks are obnoxious.

Milestones

Lisa writes: Today James stood without holding onto anything for about 5 seconds, twice.

Easter eggs

Image
Lisa writes: It's a month after Easter and look what Tom found in the grass -- two plastic eggs with chocolate candy. He was a LOT more excited about this than he looks in the picture. The eggs were taped shut, so I let him hold them when I put him into his carseat a few minutes later. Rookie mistake ... rookie mistake ....

Georgetown

Lisa writes: Tom was home with James today and after their errands they picked me up from work as a surprise. Traffic was awful getting home and we were hungry, so we got as far as Georgetown before parking and foraging. So many choices! Part one of dinner was a Cajun/Bolivian (?!?) place with roast chicken and yucca fries, then to the Old Stone House, oldest building still standing in D.C. to play on that precious little piece of green, and then Part two of dinner at Taj of India where the food was just astonishingly good. I work in the city all day, less than a mile away, but I never get out to really see these things, so this was an excellent little outing.

Milestones

Lisa writes: Today James learned how to stick his finger way up his nose. In Costco.

Milestones

Lisa writes: Today James perfected the "pageant wave" he's been working on for a few weeks. It's a cross between Prince Charles and Miss Congeniality.

Milestones

Lisa writes: Today James learned to hold his hands up over his head to ask to be picked up. Slightly related: Today I noticed that James has gotten a lot heavier.

Bye, Joseph the Gerbil

Image
Lisa writes: Changed Joseph's water tonight and went to give him a Cheerio and he didn't come out of his sleep-sock (big, old sock of Tom's that he slept in). Buried him in a Swiffers box in the backyard, next to rest of the rodent choir. Joseph, in blurrier times
