We've done it three times, therefore it is now a tradition

Lisa writes: Christmas is exHAUSTing. And yet we do this every year.... Visit to the Basilica of the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. The choir was ethereal; pyro-James and the millions of lit candles everywhere was hazy in a different way. Stop for dinner at El Catrachito in Kensington. Honduran food with one 3 year old in a really rotten mood. The pork chop and tamales were good; the multiple time-outs on the sidewalk were not. Christmas lights at the LDS Temple. James may or may not have thrown one of his gloves into the pond.

James eats fishies

Image
Lisa writes: The kid surprises me. We were at Ikea looking at toddler beds and he announced he was hungry. I offered meatballs, mashed potatoes, maybe mac 'n cheese? He said, "I want fishy." (He's being cute by calling it that.)  I said, "Really? If I buy you fish, you'll eat it?"  "Yes."  "Ok...."  And he did. A whole salmon filet, and asked for more.

(Video) Google keeps making me cry

Image
Lisa writes: Google has started periodically sending me these photo and video montages of the boys. Because Google wants to see me crying in my cubicle in the middle of a Tuesday morning.

"I'm tired because I have too much parties." James

Lisa writes: James played hookie from daycare to go to a friend's Christmas playdate party. They made (and ate) many sugar cookies, pulled out every toy in the basement, and ran circles around the house until they collapsed. Good times. My original plan was to go to the Costco out in that area before going home, but both guys fell asleep in the backseat and I chickened out. So home we went for naps, then to the Costco nearer to our house where Joseph stocked up on free samples. (The bear is shopping buddy who had to go "back to his family" before we checked out.) Joseph got his 2nd haircut last night. For some reason, it hadn't dawned on me after the first, very pivotal and somewhat emotional first haircut last month that this process would have to be repeated at least monthly. I did the 2nd haircut myself, with Tom providing baby-wrangling and distractions. He was pretty wiggly and it was pretty choppy. What you see in the pictures above is very felici...
