James and Asia

Image
James's first words were "dada," "Asia," and "mama" -- in that order. Asia is his daycare provider's dog.

Rolling

Lisa writes: Joseph has figured out he can string together a series of rows to move across the floor. He rolled about 3 feet from his play gym to where I'm sitting. Unfortunately, the last roll was on wood, not carpet. Thonk. Waa.

Anything is a toy if you play with it

Lisa writes: A few hours post-procedure and he's happy again! And eating the gas mask. This kid.

They asked for feedback

Image
Lisa writes: While Joseph was having his procedure, James and I went to the Penn Museum. There was a section where the curators requested feedback on walls covered with dry erase coating. James was more than happy to assist.

Pre-procedure

Image
Lisa writes: We went up to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia to have some pre-surgical testing done. Joseph had a EKG, x-ray, and blood work on Monday. Today, bright and early, Tom and Joseph reported to cardiology to have a sedated MRI and cardiac cath. Here's the boy, 7 1/2 months old, pre-procedure. All smiles. Love the baby hospital gown.

Driving up to Philadelphia, Joseph has a lot to say

Team Transformers: Last soccer practice

Image
Lisa writes: Final soccer practice of the season. He was actually pretty enthusiastic about it the past two practices. He's the youngest kid on the team, but he's big, strong, and fast. He's also very literal. They played "sharks and minnows" where one kid (the "shark") is supposed to try to kick the ball away from other kids (the "minnows") while the minnows try to defend their ball. All James caught from the instructions were "Don't let the shark get your ball" so he threw his body over the ball and refused to let anybody touch it. He's a natural.
