Joseph's magnificent hair (baby bathtub photoshoot)

Lisa writes: I stopped myself at seven. There are many, many more. Yesterday was Joseph's first birthday, and all year when people asked us if we were ever going to cut his hair, we casually said, "Yeah, probably when he turns one." And now he's one. We love it, and we could leave it, but it's in his eyes and the back gets matted constantly and he cries no matter how carefully I try to comb out the knots, so it's time. Get one last look:  P.S. He's really good at stacking these little cups.

Joseph's ECHO birthday party

Lisa writes: How did we only take ONE picture of this event? Anyway, the Joseph Fan Club at ECHO wanted to throw him a birthday party. It was a big hit with the 1 year old set. He got cupcakes, balloons, a gift card, and a very awesome, very noisy musical toy that he enthusiastically loves. We love you, ECHO friends!

Lisa writes: James has upgraded from riding in the backpack while Tom mows to manning his own leafblower. If you get all three of these videos going simultaneously, it's just like being there!

Lisa writes: Joseph is, by nature, the most cheerful baby I've ever met. Here's what Tom found when he went down to wake him up this morning. He was already awake and happily playing on his own. Best baby ever.
