Wisconsin trip #4

Image
Lisa writes: I flew to Wisconsin Sunday evening for another training class for work. I really didn't want to go, and hated the idea of leaving Tom and James behind for three days. (I have another, similar trip coming up at the end of August and then THAT IS ALL.) Tom surprised me by printing out this photo and hiding it in my backpack. I found it when I unpacked at the hotel and put it in the frame of the bathroom mirror for the duration of the trip. My sweet boys.

Cabin John Park

Lisa writes: Ever since Tom let his tai chi school tuition expire (saving money / not having enough time) he has been talking about going up to Cabin John Park on Saturday morning for the unofficial, unaffiliated-with-any-school push-hands group. Basically, it's a bunch of people who are studying or have studying tai chi who just meet at a particular spot in the park to practice together. They've been doing it for years. He talks about it every week, and every week something else comes up. Today, Tom finally got to go. James and I came along too to swing on the swings and ride the little train. I like how in this picture we appear to be moving at warp speed.

Kisses at the National Firearms Museum

Tom writes: We were at the National Firearms Museum (which is more interesting and less politically-charged than I would have assumed) and there was another little 15 month old there named Belle who found James irresistible.

15 months old: Bounce House

Tom writes: First bounce house. Loved it. Got the whole bouncing idea down pat, but lacked the balance to stand up.

Tom writes: We went to the Smithsonian Folklife Festival and this year's featured country was Peru. In addition to traditional crafts, food, and dances, they had some modern stuff like the "urban art" James is modeling below.
