Where in the world are Lisa's parents: New England edition

Wednesday we were back in the USA. Maine, at Portland Head Light, one of the prettiest sites for a lighthouse.

This is called the "most photographed house in the state" of Maine, the Wedding Cake House, in Kennebunk. The home was built in 1825 by shipbuilder George W. Bourne (1801–1856). The guide told us his wife went to Europe and while she was gone George, using hand tools, crafted five buttresses with pinnacles and detailed his home. His wife on return was very pleased and said, " It looks like our Wedding Cake."
The Bush home is on its own little peninsula.
Our Cruise Lady, Diane, thought her worse nightmare was coming true when we got off the ship for our day tour and had no bus. "Never in 14 years....!" Then --- when the bus driver finally showed he announced the tour guide was in the hospital and they would try and get someone else. Well, John, our hero - aka Barney Fife - came to the rescue. He did ad-libbing in his Barney's voice as we headed to sites: "As you can see there are tall buildings on the left and tall buildings on the right..." You had to be there... We laughed. "There is one of Boston's really cool things.... lots of kids in purple shirts.... Our next stop is the USS Constipation...I mean Constitution." We were in stitches. Diane got a phone call that a guide would join us after our stop at the Boston Temple. The guide would have a hard act to follow.
USS Constitution, world's oldest floating commissioned naval vessel, launched in 1797. Constitution is most famous for her actions during the War of 1812 against Great Britain, when she captured numerous merchant ships and defeated five British warships. Crew outfit young men wore. Things have changed. No women were on this Navy Ship until 1976.
Boston Temple.
Louisa May Alcott's house.
Minute Man Park.
Paul Revere's home.
The Old North Church. Mom says they could have used a pew like this for the kids when we were little.
Best towel animal yet. There was new one every night. (It's a monkey.)
