Thanksgiving at Vail 2010

Lisa's mom writes: We picked up Lisa and Tom from DI Saturday on our way to Streamside in Vail. Sunday morning I made a big breakfast with fresh Blueberry pancakes and fruits, turkey sausage and bacon etc. We attended the Vail Branch in Avon, Colorado where Christian will be baptized. It is a nice chapel and some day will get the next phase with real church benches. The services are conducted with one song in Spanish, one in English. One talk in Spanish, one in English. There is an interpreter in RS. and Priesthood. The branch doubles with holidays visitors. In Relief Society Lisa and I had a dentist wife from Fairfield, CA sitting next to me and another dentist wife from Colorado Springs sitting in front of us.

[Lisa writes: This is what we look like after a red-eye flight.]

After Super Walmart in Avon and making lunch we took the shuttle in to Lion's Head. Vail's "Billion Dollar" project is total opulence. The paver sidewalks are dry because heating system has been installed. The deco is beautifully done.

[Lisa writes: We look better after naps.]

The lights are up for the holidays.

They were preparing the little outdoor skating rink. It was cold. We will return tomorrow when Lisa's skis. It will be a bit warmer. We are so happy our girls and family will arrive Wednesday. Keep giving Thanks - Love, Rexene
