More Mexican things

There's this plastic cover thing under the car that has come loose and is dragging on the road. We took the car to a repair shop today and the guy took a look at it and declared that the holes where screws should hold it onto the car have worn through, but he can repair it with "cinchas." Neither of us recognized the word, but as he walked away, I said to Tom, "A hundred bucks says he comes back here with a handful of zip ties."

He did.

Spanglish cracks me up.  Here's just a small sampling of the some of I've heard:
Rentar = to rent (instead of aquilar)
Parqear = to park (instead of estacionar)
Chatear = to chat (instead of charlar or platicar)
Googlear = to Google (well, maybe I'll give them this one...)

And this one: Checar = to check

Mexico excited about the World Cup. Every store is selling Mundial stuff. These lovelies were seen at Walmart.
