Requiescat In Pace

Lisa writes: Christmas day, after Mass, we went with Tom's mom to visit his father's gave at Arlington. Several years ago, the Worchester Wreath Company of Maine started laying wreaths on some of the tombstones for Christmas. This has become a tradition and grown every year, although it still only includes a small percentage of the over 300,000 graves here.

Tom's father's remains are in a columbarium. (Tom's mom jokingly refers to it as the "condominium.") There aren't any wreaths in that section. Anybody want to join me in coming up with a couple hundred tiny little wreaths to hang on the plaques?

My dad is also in a "condominium" at Arlington. I guess Daddy is one of Tom's father's neighbors. :) I would be more than happy to to join you in the tiny wreath campaign.

Got any ideas of how to do it? They need to be about 4"-6" inches diameter. I've searched Hobby Lobby, Michael's, A.C. Moore, and JoAnn Fabrics for little wreaths. (Plastic or something.) I checked some wreath websites for real ones. No luck either way. I'm trying to imagine how to make them. Pick up the trimmed branches and wrap thin wire around them? Apply your prodigious brain to this problem, would ya, Jeeves?

These are 3" and on sale. Would they work?

The price is definitely right. What do you think? Funky fur wreaths ... do they have the right spirit of, um, Christmas reverence?
