...Unlike the Little Golden Book´s copy of "There´s a Monster at the End of This Book." Anybody remember that one? It's Grover, from Sesame Street, saying "Don't turn the page! There's a monster at the end of this book!" and then you get to the last page and it turns out the monster is just Grover. I remember thinking it was a funny book, which is why I picked it up at Target before we left. Perhaps my memory is a little off, because it scared the kids to tears! Whoops.

I remember that book too, and I thought it was hilarious (and I scare easy!) Oh well . . .

Hey Lisa,

I remember the monster at the end of the book it was great. A possible reason for the scared kids is your great reading ability (seriously, not being sarcastic). You made them believe there really was a monster at the end of the book :)

I LOVE that book! Grover is one of my favorite Sesame Street residents. (Though I more easily identify with Oscar the Grouch for obvious reasons.) Grover always makes me smile. :)
My four-year-old loves that book, so the difference is either cultural or in the delivery. (We have it because I loved it as a child, too.)

The last day we were there, we were debating whether to leave the book or take it home with us. Elison said to leave it because it would give Jao Pedro an opportunity to work out his trauma. Did I mention Elison is a psychiatrist? I'm so happy to have given him an opportunity to work on his own kid!
